Howard Beck of Bleacher Report: “NEW YORK — LeBron James was taking questions Friday. If you could get to him. The Cavaliers star was sealed off behind a frantic mob of reporters and cameras, a tangle of outstretched arms, bumping elbows, iPods on selfie sticks, dangling microphones and stationary floodlights. The pack was 120 strong and five rows deep. Jeff Teague was also available Friday. To reach him, you had to walk up to his podium and say hello. The banners behind both men said “All-Star.” But not all NBA stars are created equally or move us the same way.”
Sean Highkin of Pro Basketball Talk: “NEW YORK—“The Hawks takeover.” That’s how Jeff Teague characterized All-Star Weekend, which was all about the city of New York but featured the Atlanta Hawks more prominently than any other team—even if nobody noticed. The Hawks became the first team since the 2010-11 Boston Celtics to have four players featured in the event. Teague, Al Horford and Paul Millsap were selected as reserves by the coaches, and Kyle Korver was named as Dwyane Wade‘s injury replacement.”
Matt Moore of CBS Sports: “NEW YORK — “If it was going to happen,” Kyle Korver says, “that’s the way it should have happened.” The Hawks shooter is talking about the volume of Atlanta Hawks at this year’s All-Star Weekend, the most zoo-like zoo in the galaxy, in the mega-zoo of New York this time around. But through the media sessions (which are apparently really rough) and the VIP meet-and-greets (and about 100 in-store appearances), there is an honor. They were chosen as the game’s best players, and they did it together, along with their coach.”
