Injury News: Hawks’ forward Mike Scott out tonight against the 76ers

Mike Scott has officially been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to flu-like symptoms.

With Scott not available it should be interesting to see if we see extended minutes for Mike Muscala or Elton Brand to help beef up the frontcourt depth.

Hawks’ first-round pick Adreian Payne was sent down to the San Antonio Spurs’ D-League team the Austin Spurs yesterday so don’t expect to see him recalled for tonight’s game.

Chris Vivlamore of the AJC had this to say on Payne’s assignment to Austin:

“Austin plays three games in four days, beginning Thursday at Los Angeles. The also play at Santa Cruz Friday and versus Oklahoma City Sunday. It is likely Payne will return to the Hawks following the three-game stint.”

If there was ever a perfect time for Payne to make his Atlanta Hawks debut it would be a weeknight home game against the Sixers.

Scott is averaging 20.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 1.6 apg per 36 minutes this season.
