Hawks ticket prices on secondary market rise in February after incredible January

The Atlanta Hawks recently had their amazing 19-game winning streak snapped, but the progress had already been made for the top team in the Eastern Conference. Already one of the more balanced teams in the entire league, the Hawks used that epic run to catapult them to the top of their conference and could even arguably be the best team in the NBA at the moment.

As good of a year as the Hawks are having, they’ll still have to prove over the next couple of months that their awesome 2014-15 season wasn’t built solely on one big winning streak. Big man Al Horford’s good health has helped the team step up amongst the best teams out East, but whether or not Atlanta will stay there remains to be determined.

One thing we do know is that Atlanta fans are getting a nice return on their investment, as Hawks tickets on Razorgator are a very conservative $151.36 on average this year. Let’s take a look at how their ticket prices might fluctuate in February by breaking down their cheapest and most expensive contests this month:

Most Expensive – 2/20/2015 vs. Toronto Raptors | Avg: $194.35 | Get-in: $31

Division leaders clash when the Raptors come to town, as Kyle Lowry and co. try to peck away at Atlanta’s lead over the Eastern Conference. The Raptors have had some issues due to injuries, but have stormed back over the past couple of weeks and should have their sights on a top-three seed. They probably won’t overtake Atlanta for the top seed, but taking down the Hawks in Atlanta would serve as more than just a confidence booster.

Despite this being a marquee matchup between conference heavyweights, fans are getting a major deal with Toronto Raptors tickets against the Hawks coming in under $200 on average for this showdown. To top it off, this is the finale in the season series, with Toronto coming in holding a 2-1 series lead. Atlanta has the edge at home, but will need to be on top of their game to even the series at two games apiece.

Cheapest – 2/27/2015 vs. Orlando Magic | Avg: $132.26 | Get-in: $15

Hawks tickets come way down when the Orlando Magic come to town, likely due to the Magic being one of the worst teams in the league (they’ve lost 10 straight at the time of this writing). While Orlando isn’t playoff bound, they still offer some considerable talent in Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic. That talent helped Orlando steal a one-point win from the Hawks back in December and could make for a good game once again in late February.

The Magic certainly are a team Atlanta will have to take seriously, but the Hawks have split the season series (1-1) and will want to work toward a season advantage. Win or lose, tickets for Magic fans traveling to Atlanta provide solid value with this matchup, even though it’s a likely Atlanta win and the two earlier games between these two were both decided by less than six points. Atlanta probably wins with how well they’ve been playing, but fans should be in for a solid game – as well as a terrific bargain.
